Decision Made: Green

Thanks for everyone who voted on the roof color. We've decided to go with GREEN! Although the race was tight, green won out with the deciding vote coming from Don the 'Logman'.

Construction continues despite more rain!

Despite gully washers 2 nights in a row with drizzle lingering into the mornings, the construction crew has been waiting it out then working late in the day to get the sub-floor done.

Fun Times with Family

Milestone # 2... the LOGS ARRIVE!

Don headed to town to lead the truckers to our 'remote' location.  They didn't believe him until they got to the dirt road... yeah, it's remote :)
Two semi's loaded with our logs and siding arrived at 8:15AM this morning led by Don.  They arrived in Pittsfield last night and spent the night in the lumber yard parking lot.

Don inspected the loads to make sure we got it all.
Time to unload.  The pallet crane arrived late last night via another semi.  It was unloaded at 11:00PM so it would be ready for today.

Wow... that's a lot of stuff and this is only one list!  There are lots more like it.
All the logs will be dropped on our new circle drive for now and moved later as needed.

Log Builders Arrive in Force

Today the builders arrived to begin making sawdust.  Don's crew of 4 worked hard all day beginning the prep work for the floors and walls.

Dad,

Since I can't see you today, this is a Father's Day greeting for all to see and share.  I love you for your steadfast faith, loyalty and devotion to Mom, leading by example, and most of all, being the best friend a daughter can have.   Thank you for who you are!  Your daughter, Syndy 

Update...

Despite the rain, rain, and more rain, the guys actually got some concrete poured!  We have a basement floor now :)
