A rainy moving day

So, Wednesday was the day that the moving truck was supposed to pull up to our new house, unload all our belongings from the storage we had in Chicagoland. Operative word... "supposed to". At the end of the day, yes, our belongings were packed into our new home but getting them from 'here to there' was no easy task. The day started with rain, rain and more rain. It was the dreariest day we've had since, well, the last dreary winter day. But back to the story. The movers called from Pittsfield for directions so our friend Rooster went to meet the truck and bring them in. When they got to Martinsburg, the road coming down to the farm was so washed out that the truck couldn't make it down. They parked up by Henry's house and with much deliberation, we decided that the solution was to rent 2 uHaul trucks to move everything from the completely packed semi trailer into the uHaul panel trucks, drive the uHauls to the farm and unload them into the garage. 8 trips and 3 completely soaked movers later, our soggy belongings were strewn about the house. What a day.
Rooster was first to bring in some fragile items that he transported for us from storage.

Our furniture makes the living room look more like a home.
Of course, all the boxes are stuffed into our closet, the garage, our bedroom and the living room.Chef Greg picked up pizza to feed the hungry masses. Between the movers, electricians, Amish neighbors and our crew, we feed 13 people for lunch in the 'kitchen'.The bright spot in our day... the electricians hooked up Sunshine's night light!
